Altigreen partners with Lohum to recycle EV batteries

The alliance intends to promote responsible and ecologically friendly practices in the electric transportation sector while reducing Altigreen's carbon impact.

Lohum will utilize its 'NEETM' technology to recycle end-of-life batteries from Altigreen electric vehicles, recovering 95 per cent of high-purity battery raw materials that may be used to make new batteries.

Altigreen, a manufacturer of electric three-wheelers, has formed a strategic alliance with Lohum, a leading sustainable energy transition materials firm, to address the essential issue of sustainable battery disposal in the electric vehicle market.

The alliance intends to promote responsible and ecologically friendly practices in the electric transportation sector while reducing Altigreen's carbon impact.

The partners will create an innovative framework to help Alitgreen meet its responsible battery disposal and recycling goals. Alitgreen will be able to reach these targets with ease thanks to Lohum, an Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) partner recognized under India's Battery Waste Management Rules (BWMR 2022).

Lohum will utilize its 'NEETM' technology to recycle end-of-life batteries from Altigreen electric vehicles, recovering 95 per cent of high-purity battery raw materials that may be used to make new batteries.

Over the next three years, the cooperation will allow it to recycle 1 GWh of Altigreen EV cargo vehicle batteries, contributing to a significant reduction in battery waste and efficient resource utilization.
