Ashok Leyland, India's leading commercial vehicle manufacturer, reported a 9.24% decline in overall sales for February 2024, encompassing both domestic and export markets.

Domestic Commercial Vehicle Sales Declined by 11.88%

In the domestic market, Ashok Leyland witnessed an 11.88% decrease in sales, with 14,199 commercial vehicles sold in February 2024, compared to 16,113 units in the same month last year.

Export Sales Surge by 257.86%

On a positive note, the company experienced a remarkable 257.86% growth in export sales, with 569 units shipped in February 2024, up from 159 units in February 2023.

Total Sales Drop by 11.88%: The overall commercial vehicle sales for February 2024 witnessed an 11.88% decline, with 14,199 units sold, down from 16,113 units in February 2023.

M&HCV Truck Segment: The Medium and Heavy Commercial Vehicle (M&HCV) truck category reported a sales drop of 18%, with 8,492 units sold in February 2024 compared to 10,312 units in February 2023.

LCV Category: The Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) category saw a 2% dip, with 5,707 units sold in February 2024 compared to 5,801 units sold in the same month last year.

Export CV Sales (February 2024)

Remarkable Growth in LCV Category: Ashok Leyland witnessed an impressive sales growth of 280.39% in the LCV category, with 388 units sold in February 2024, up from 102 units in February 2023.

Surge in M&HCV Category: Export sales in the M&HCV category experienced a substantial surge of 217.54%, with 181 units sold in February 2024, compared to 57 units in February 2023.

Total Units Sold: In February 2024, Ashok Leyland recorded 14,768 units in gross sales, compared to 16,272 units in February 2023.

Category-wise Breakdown: The M&HCV truck category contributed 8,673 CVs, down from 10,369 CVs in February 2023. Within the LCV category, 6,095 CVs were sold in February 2024, compared to 5,903 CVs in February 2023.
