Total commercial vehicle (CV) sales at the Hinduja Group company increased by 88% which is 17,549 units in September 2022, slightly higher compared to 9,533 units in September 2021.

In September 2021, Ashok Leyland recorded vehicle sales of 16,499 units, an increase of 88% over the 8787 units sold in the same month the previous year. Its YTD sales increased by 90% to 79639 units in September 2022, up from 41866 units in September 2021.

The overall sharp growth was seen in its Ashok Leyland trucks and buses, as well as LCV, which increased by 115 per cent, 215 per cent, and 124 per cent, respectively.

Individual H&HCV business flipped its game in September 2022, with total sales of 9927 units compared to 4620 units in the same month.

The M&HCV bus portfolio increased by 215 per cent from 440 units in the same month last year to 1387 units. The LCV market also managed to catch up, increasing by 39% from 4473 units in September 2021 to 6235 units in September 2022.

Domestic and export sales totalled 17549 units in September 2022, an increase of 84% from 9533 units in September 2021.

Ashok Leyland, the Hinduja group's flagship, is a major manufacturer of commercial vehicles in India as well as a global manufacturer of buses and trucks.

In Q1 FY23, the company reported a standalone net profit of Rs 68 crore, compared to a net loss of Rs 282 crore in Q1 FY22. Revenue increased to Rs 7,223 crore in the first quarter, up from Rs 2,951 crore in the same period last year.
