L120 Electric Wheel Loader Sets New Standards in Sustainable Material Handling

The exhibit showcased the L120 Electric Wheel Loader, a special electric version of Volvo's well-known 6-tonne wheel loader. This innovative machine is raising the standards for eco-friendly material handling in different industries.

In 2023, Volvo CE launched zero-emission machines, including the EC500 Electric, India’s first grid-connected electric excavator in the 50-ton class, and the PT220 Electric Asphalt Compactor for emission-free road construction. The company aligns with strict emission regulations and contributes to the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative.

Dimitrov Krishnan, MD of Volvo CE India, emphasized the need for a technological shift towards electrification in the construction equipment market. He highlighted the importance of government support, suggesting initiatives such as including the CE industry in the FAME scheme, reducing GST to 5% on electric machines, and creating EV-friendly infrastructure tenders.

Volvo CE is taking a holistic approach by introducing new-age service solutions, including Equipment as a Service. This value-added service bundles cutting-edge equipment with efficiency measures and productivity services, supporting customer success and aligning with the vision for a cleaner, quieter, and more sustainable construction industry in India.
