Daimler India Commercial Vehicles, India’s most popular truck and bus brand announced the launch of the BharatBenz Simulated Driver Trainerproject, which aims to improve driving abilities and adapt drivers to digital technologies.
This high-end, technologically advanced simulator is unique in the Indian commercial vehicle industry.
Daimler India manufactures commercial vehicles under the 'BharatBenz' brand at its Oragadam facility. The Oragadam manufacturing factory is stretched across 400 acres and includes a highly contemporary test track, as well as the company's headquarters, research and development, and training operations.
The Simulated Driver Trainer would first cater to heavy-duty truck drivers. The setup includes a multi-screen display in front of the driver's line of sight. The training driver sits within a real BharatBenz heavy-duty truck (HDT) cabin that is electronically linked to real-world dynamics, giving the driver a realistic multi-sensory experience of any road or terrain on which the truck is operated. Terrain, weather conditions, and other obstacles can be changed remotely using a computer.
According to the firm, the BharatBenz Simulated Driver Trainer provides an immersive multi-sensory digital experience as well as an inclusive training curriculum in five languages and 27 driving modules.
These modules create reports to aid in the tracking and improvement of driving performance. It generates a simulation for drivers to practice and learn on various applications, as well as encourages them toward optimal driving practices for enhanced performance, cost savings, and overall efficiency.
It would improve driver skills, assist them in learning and adapting to new technologies in BharatBenz trucks, improve logistical efficiency, make driving safer than ever before, and strengthen driving capability.
According to the firm, the Simulated Driver Trainer is designed to revolutionize the way BharatBenz truck drivers approach a variety of terrains and weather circumstances by training on driving skills required to stay up with the country's growing road and infrastructure development.
DICV is the wholly owned subsidiary of Daimler Truck AG and the manufacturer of BharatBenz. It Manufactures trucks weighing 10 to 55 tons, as well as BharatBenz buses, Mercedes-Benz coaches, and bus chassis.
