Ashok Leyland Celebrated Women’s Day by Honoring Achievers and Extending Mumbai Indians Partnership

Ashok Leyland renewed its sponsorship of the Mumbai Indians Women’s Team, reinforcing its commitment to women’s sports. The company introduced policies for gender diversity, including flexible work options and career restart programs. It set up a ‘Women-Centric Cabin Trim Line’ and an ‘All-Women Production Line.’ Through Mission Parivartan, it trained 180 women, many of whom are now working as DTC bus drivers. Montra Electric Opens New e-SCV Manufacturing Plant in Ponneri, Chennai

Montra Electric opened a new manufacturing plant for electric small commercial vehicles (e-SCV) in Ponneri, Chennai, with a capacity of 50,000 vehicles per year. The facility will primarily produce the EVIATOR, an e-SCV with a 245 km certified range and advanced telematics for over 95% fleet uptime. The plant will boost Montra Electric’s presence in India’s EV market. As part of TI Clean Mobility, the company aims to accelerate the adoption of electric commercial vehicles with sustainable mobility solutions.

Bajaj Auto Delivers 51 GoGo Electric Three-Wheelers in Lucknow

Bajaj Auto has started GoGo electric three-wheeler deliveries in Lucknow, delivering 51 units with 200 bookings. The GoGo lineup includes P5009, P5012, and P7012, offering a certified range of up to 251 km. Prices start at ₹3,26,797 (ex-showroom Delhi). Features include a full-metal body, two-speed automated transmission, Hill Hold Assist, and a five-year battery warranty. Bajaj Auto leads the three-wheeler market, selling 438,941 units in 2024, with strong revenue growth driven by exports and EV expansion.

SML ISUZU Secures New Order for 114 Troop Carriers from Indian Air Force

SML ISUZU secured a ₹24.71 crore order from the Indian Air Force for 114 BS VI, 4-Wheel Drive Troop Carriers. Awarded through the Government e-Marketplace (GeM), deliveries will take place between March 11 and July 9, 2025. This contract strengthens SML ISUZU’s position in defense procurement. The company confirmed no promoter or group company involvement. Listed on BSE and NSE, SML ISUZU expects investor interest following this announcement, boosting its presence in the specialized military vehicle segment.

Jupiter Electric Mobility Aims for 1 Lakh EVs in Five Years with focus on LCV market

Jupiter Electric Mobility launched its electric small truck, JEM Tez, in Indore, marking its entry into the LCV EV market. The company, a subsidiary of Jupiter Wagons Ltd, plans to sell 1 lakh EVs in five years. Partnering with Green Power (USA) and Log9 Materials, it focuses on technology and reliability. The Pithampur facility can produce 8,000 vehicles annually. Future plans include 2-tonne and 3-tonne electric trucks, targeting metro markets with established charging infrastructure.

The government has released Rs 2,595 crore under PMFBY for crop loss compensation. Farmers received Rs 1,012.10 crore for Rabi 2023–24 and Rs 1,583.53 crore for Kharif 2023. Insurance covers losses due to hailstorms, floods, droughts, and post-harvest damage. Farmers must report crop loss within 72 hours for claims. Pending payments will be settled soon. The scheme supports wheat, barley, mustard, soybean, and other crops, ensuring financial relief and stability for affected farmers across India.

Farmers Get 75% Subsidy on Solar Light Trap for Pest Control

The Haryana government offers a 75% subsidy on solar light traps to reduce pesticide use and farming costs. Farmers can apply online through the ‘Meri Fasal Mera Byora’ portal. One solar trap is allowed per acre, up to 10 acres. These eco-friendly traps attract pests using solar-powered lights, lowering crop damage and improving yields. This initiative promotes sustainable farming by reducing soil pollution and increasing farmer profits. Interested farmers should apply soon to benefit from this subsidy.

Kolkata Uses Recycled Plastic to Build Stronger Roads

Kolkata is using recycled plastic in road repairs to improve durability and prevent water seepage. Mayor Firhad Hakim initiated this method after experiencing rough roads himself. The solid waste management department ensures a steady supply of plastic granules from the Dhapa recycling plant. Successful trials in Behala led to expansion across major city roads. This eco-friendly initiative enhances road quality and promotes recycling, setting an example for other cities to adopt sustainable road construction methods.
