India's first 100% DME-powered tractor for both on- and off-road operations.

Researchers at IIT Kanpur have successfully created India's first 100% Dimethyl Ether (DME)-fueled tractor for both on- and off-road operations. This shows a significant step toward a sustainable and renewable fuel-based transportation system. This discovery opens a new chapter in the country's search for alternative fuels in order to minimize reliance on imported crude oil and promote a greener future.

DME, a renewable and indigenous fuel, has been used for vehicle power by a number of countries, including Japan, the United States, China, Sweden, Denmark, and Korea.

Altigreen Opens New Retail Experience Center in Nagpur

Altigreen has opened a new Retail Experience Centre in Nagpur, Maharashtra. With this centre, Nagpur residents will have access to Altigreen's extensive inventory of electric vehicles.

Altigreen is one of India's leading commercial electric vehicle manufacturers, The brand already has centres in Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, Delhi, and Bangalore, and this is the company's 31st dealership in the country. The Altigreen Retail Experience Centre was officially inaugurated by Honourable Chief Guest Shri Nitin Gadkari, Minister of Road and Highways of India, and Dr Amitabh Saran, Altigreen's Founder and CEO.

Mahindra Last Mile Mobility is India’s No.1, electric 3-wheeler manufacturer and sold 36,816 EVs in FY23

In FY23, Mahindra Last Mile Mobility (LMM), a company of Mahindra & Mahindra, established itself as the No.1* electric 3-wheeler producer. During this time, Mahindra LMM sold 36,816 EVs and held a 14.6%* market share. This is a considerable improvement as compared to the previous fiscal year's performance of 17,522 units and 7.6%* market share.

LMM's electric lineup also includes the Treo and Alfas - Mini and Cargo - in addition to the Zor Grand. Based on the faith placed in Mahindra by clients, LMM has sold over one lakh 3-wheeler EVs to date.

Greaves Electric Mobility collaborates with Bike Bazaar Finance to provide finance solutions for electric three-wheeler

Greaves Electric Mobility (GEMPL), a Greaves Cotton company, has partnered with Bike Bazaar Finance to provide finance for GEMPL's ELE-branded L3 electric vehicles. This is Bike Bazaar's first collaboration with an E3W company, and it will begin in UP and Bihar. The main aim of this collaboration is to extend nationwide in the near future.

Bike Bazaar Finance offers finance of up to 85 per cent of the on-road price. As a result, it will allow more clients to access GEMPL's ELE L3 electric vehicles.

Rahul Gandhi goes on another truck ride: American Truck Yatra

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi recently travelled from Washington to New York in a truck and had an open talk with the driver about the daily life of Indian-origin truck drivers in the United States.

He had previously taken a truck journey from Delhi to Chandigarh to hear about truck drivers' challenges in India. According to a press release issued by the party, the Congress leader went on a 190-kilometre "American Truck Yatra" from Washington DC to New York with driver Taljinder Singh Vicky Gill and his companion Ranjeet Singh Banipal, a journey that ended with a delicious breakfast at a restaurant.

Daimler Commercial Vehicles Thailand (DCVT) moves forward in the bus market with the new Mercedes-Benz bus chassis OH1626L. After fully reopening the country to tourists, DCVT offers the innovation to support public transit and tourism enterprises. The new model is worth investing in for economic efficiency, reduced air pollution, and environmental friendliness.

The new 12-meter-long bus chassis has a powerful engine OM906LA with a maximum of 260 horsepower and a broader flat torque range of 950 Nm. DCVT has the capacity to provide public transportation and tourism operators with innovation, safety, and comfort.

ZF To Supply four times more efficient regenerative braking system For Tevva’s BEV Truck

ZF has started the development of a regenerative braking system for Tevva's 7.5t battery-electric truck. The company partnered with Tevva engineers on the project to install its Electronic Brake System (EBS) in its zero-emission electric trucks.

Tevva engineers fulfilled a variety of strict testing standards for the company's vehicle, fine-tuning its control unit (VCU) and improving compatibility with the EBS. As a result, the system becomes four times more efficient than a traditional compressed air brake system and it maximizes the Tevva truck's range.

MOVIN introduces Electric Vehicles in Delhi NCR for Last Mile Deliveries

Movin, a logistics brand developed by UPS and InterGlobe Enterprises, has introduced Electric Vehicles (EV) to its fleet for first and last-mile deliveries. With the goal of reducing carbon emissions and aligning with its long-term sustainability goals, the EV deployment begins with Delhi-NCR and will eventually encompass Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore, Kolkata, and Pune by the end of 2023.

Ashok Leyland and Aidrivers collaborate to develop an electric terminal truck for port operations

Ashok Leyland, the Hinduja Group's Indian flagship and the country's leading commercial vehicle manufacturer, and Aidrivers, a specialist in AI-enabled autonomous solutions, are collaborating to produce autonomous electric terminal trucks to meet the port industry's Net Zero emissions requirements.

This truck model will be built on an Ashok Leyland platform and outfitted with Aidrivers' autonomous eco-system. It will be manufactured at Ashok Leyland's production facilities. To receive delivery in 2024, an order must be placed now. The first fleet of trucks is expected to be ready for real-world terminal operations early next year.

Tata Motors is optimistic about FY24 CV demand.

Tata Motors, the country's largest commercial vehicle (CV) maker, is hopeful about robust overall CV demand in the fiscal year 2024 (FY24). Despite short-term challenges like increasing interest rates, fuel costs, and inflation, the brand is optimistic about the demand.

Tata Motors stated in an investor presentation that it expects the government's sustained emphasis on infrastructure development to support CV demand in FY24.

Tata Motors will continue to drive a demand-pull strategy and meet customer choices through innovation, service quality, and thematic brand activation. The firm strives for higher realisations and costs savings to secure double-digit EBITDA margins in fiscal years 2023-24.
