Michelin launched a New 'Lighter And Longer-Lasting' Tire for Aircraft
Michelin introduced a revolutionary radial tyre technology designed for commercial aviation, at the 54th Paris Air Show. It is lighter than prior versions, with a weight reduction of 10-20%.
These significant weight savings is accompanied by improved long-term performance and also provide for lower maintenance and transportation expenses. According to Michelin, the Air X SKY LIGHT would have a 15 to 20% longer lifespan than its predecessor.

Ashok Leyland, a truck and bus manufacturer, stated that its future electric compact vans will be manufactured at the company's Hosur manufacturing LCV (light industrial automobile) facility.
As part of its broader intentions to enhance LCV volumes with the new product rollout, the company has already indicated that it will debut two new small electric trucks - Ashok Leyland Dost and Ashok Leyland Bada Dost.
The Ashok Leyland Dost and Ashok Leyland Bada Dost is a popular model in the light commercial vehicle category. This model is also available in CNG and diesel fuel versions. However, Ashok Leyland Dost and Ashok Leyland Bada Dost pickup electric models will soon be available.
BillionElectric Unveils E-Mobility Platform for Airport Buses and Trucks
BillionElectric, a platform for e-mobility as a service (e-MaaS), has raised $10 million in a seed round of equity and asset lease funding. The funds will be utilized for two purposes:
• To install electric tarmac buses at Bengaluru International Airport.
• To develop an electric vehicle platform for mid-mile heavy trucks.
The EV startup is a subsidiary of Charge+Zone, the country's top provider of electric vehicle charging infrastructure. Following its initial debut in Bengaluru in cooperation with Veera Vahana, BillionElectric claims it has already signed a contract to expand its services to ten additional airports across India. In partnership with CHARGE+ZONE, BillionElectric will also provide charging infrastructure and support for commercial electric vehicles.
Magenta Mobility, Altigreen, and Exponent Partner to Launch 15-Minute Rapid Charging EV Fleet
Magenta Mobility, a provider of electric mobility and charging solutions, has partnered with Exponent Energy, an energy-tech firm, and Altigreen Propulsion Labs, an electric commercial vehicle manufacturer, to install 1,000 neEV Tez e3Ws powered by Exponent's technology. The collaboration was formalized following a three-month pilot between the three organizations.
Altigreen's neEV Tez reveals that EVs are not only more cost-effective than their fossil-fuel counterparts, but they can also deliver much higher earnings over a 20-hour period.
Monarch Tractor Expands AI Research and Development Team in Singapore
Monarch Tractor, situated in Silicon Valley, has recently announced plans to expand in Singapore. Monarch Tractor is the creator of the MK-V—a completely electric and driverless tractor. This move reflects the company's tremendous success as well as the growing demand for its AI, robotics, and smart farming technology in the Asia Pacific region (APAC).
Monarch Tractor, which already has a presence in Singapore and recently expanded into Hyderabad, India. The company aims to foster the development of the next generation of data scientists, machine learning engineers, and AI practitioners by collaborating with government agencies and academic institutions to strengthen its AI research and development team.
Solectrac launches an electric tractor rental program.
With the debut of their new electric tractor rental program, Solectrac, the electric tractor manufacturer, is transforming the farming business. Customers can experience the benefits of Solectrac's zero-emission tractors on a monthly basis, making it an inexpensive and accessible option to purchase.
Mani Iyer, CEO of Solectrac, underlined the importance of providing clients with the option to become acquainted with their breakthrough technology without the burden of a significant financial commitment. He also admitted that smaller operations could only need a tractor on occasion, making the rental scheme an appropriate alternative.
Many farmers do not have enough money to purchase a tractor to plough their farm fields, so they return to the old way of ploughing. Sanjeet, a 28-year-old guy from Dhuswan village in Nautan block, west Champaran, Bihar, built a tractor out of trash.
The tractor is not only inexpensive, but it also does not require gasoline, diesel, or electricity to operate; all you have to do is pedal it. Sanjeet has appropriately designated it the HE Tractor, which stands for Human Energy Tractor.
Ashok Leyland expects 8-10% Growth in the Commercial Vehicle segment this FY
According to Ashok Leyland, the domestic commercial vehicle industry is predicted to rise by 8-10%. This good growth is aided by the government's infrastructure expenditure and strong replacement demand from core sectors.
In his address to shareholders in the Annual Report 2022-23, Ashok Leyland Chairman Dheeraj G Hinduja stated that CV sales in the current fiscal year will exceed the previous peak achieved in 2018-19.
Hinduja described how a Chennai-based commercial vehicle manufacturer is preparing to capitalize on unexplored opportunities without jeopardizing market share or profit potential. Furthermore, he stated that demand in FY 2024 will exceed demand in FY 2018-19 (pre-covid times).
