The Regional Training Center will provide technical training to ITI Cuttack students as well as BharatBenz dealer sales and service technical personnel in the Eastern area.

Daimler India Commercial Vehicles (DICV), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Daimler Truck, has established a new BharatBenz Regional Training Center (RTC) in Cuttack, Odisha.
The new RTC is the result of a collaboration between BharatBenz, the Directorate of Technical Education and Training (DTET), and PPS Motors. It will be located on the campus of ITI, Cuttack and will provide technical training programs for ITI, Cuttack students as well as BharatBenz dealer sales and service technical professionals in the Eastern region.
BharatBenz is establishing Regional Training Centers around India to reskill and upskill its technical workforce. The RTC at ITI Cuttack is the second, having been established four years ago in Chennai. BharatBenz will open two more RTCs, one in the North and one in the West, with the goal of training as many people as possible each year.
"The launch of BharatBenz Regional Training Center in Cuttack is part of BharatBenz Academy's larger plan to have one Regional Training Center each in the North, South, East, and West of India to train, reskill, and upskill students, our drivers, and personnel in sales and aftersales service," said Rajaram Krishnamurthy, VP, BharatBenz Marketing & Sales and Customer Service.
"Two more Regional Training Centers, one in the north and one in the west, are in the works and will be operational by December 2022. We have trained about 28,000 technicians at our Chennai RTC in the four years that BharatBenz Academy has been in existence. With the new Regional Training Center in Cuttack, we will train over 800 technicians in the first year and over 2,000 technicians in the second year, all in the East zone. Our goal is to teach at least 10,000 technicians every year through our Regional Training Centers," Krishnamurthy remarked.
The new facility is around 2,000 square feet in size and will be swiftly expanded to 6,000 square feet. It lies on the Government Industrial Training Institute (ITI) campus in Cuttack. The RTC has about 500 pieces of equipment and tools, as well as two cars and ten truck and bus aggregates for training sessions. At this RTC, BharatBenz Dealer Network trainers and ITI (Industrial Training Institute) teachers will lead a range of training programs.
The BharatBenz Academy provides technical support training to over 275 nationwide sales and service touchpoints and training for BharatBenz truck drivers and dealership personnel.
A Driver Training Simulator and a Learning Management System are also in the works. According to the company, this will improve the digital learning experience and track success down the level for future improvement. The Academy will soon launch new programs - application, theme, and customer-based - to guide and assist end users in attaining greater business performance and results. DICV will also provide DTET trainers and students with information, training material, tools, and equipment.
"By collaborating with ITI Cuttack, we will share our resources and knowledge in teaching ITI students to meet market skill requirements and assure the availability of skilled labour in the market. Our dealership and network can evaluate these resources for expanding needs where we may not need to spend another 6 months creating them," Krishnamurthy added.
