Daimler Truck has accomplished a significant milestone, with over a million connected trucks and buses on a global digital platform. Achieving this milestone demonstrates the company's commitment to vehicle connection as a basis for digital goods that increase fleet uptime, safety, and efficiency while enabling the transition to sustainable transportation.

"Connectivity solutions are the foundation for innovation and distinction in the race to win customers. With over 1 million connected vehicles, we now have a solid foundation for developing and scaling services and solutions that increase customer value and brand loyalty while also improving our value chain," said Marcus Claesson, Daimler Truck's CIO (Chief Information Officer).

Daimler Truck has achieved this achievement by implementing embedded telematics technology and a global digital platform across all vehicle brands during the previous few years. The company has integrated its robust connectivity platform across all major vehicle models and categories, as well as added digital goods that are deployed globally.

Daimler Truck's integrated connection platform enables customers to interact with their logistics ecosystem by effortlessly obtaining data and insights straight from their vehicles in real time, without the need for additional hardware. Furthermore, Daimler Truck collaborates with third parties through the global connection platform to provide a wide range of logistical solutions to our customers.

These digital products and apps are available in Europe through Mercedes-Benz Trucks Uptime, Fleetboard, or OmniPlus, in Asia through Truckconnect, and in North America with Detroit Connect-branded solutions.

Daimler Truck's remote update products drop the need for workshop visits by diagnosing and upgrading vehicles in the field at the customer's convenience. This significantly decreases the need for unscheduled workshop trips, saving customers time and money while keeping their vehicles on the road.

Two examples: Early defect identification has reduced unplanned repair visits by more than half for Mercedes-Benz Trucks Uptime customers in Europe. In the United States, Daimler Truck North America performed over 500,000 remote updates last year, reducing the need for customers to attend workshops.

Daimler Truck's digital products play an important part in the transition to zero-emission vehicles. Daimler Truck now provides eServices for battery-powered trucks, including range prediction, battery status monitoring, pre-conditioning, and efficient charging management. In the future, connection will play an important role in autonomous driving, with solutions for remote support and systematic monitoring of autonomous trucks on the road.

"We are quite proud of this achievement, which is the product of a tremendous team effort. We will continue to invest in our connectivity platform and digital solutions that make our trucks and buses safer, smarter, and more efficient, ultimately benefiting our customers' businesses," stated Sanjiv Khurana, Head of the Connectivity Services Group at Daimler Truck.

The primary goal for all apps is to provide value to the consumer. Simultaneously, digital solutions are a critical lever for Daimler Truck's continued service revenue growth. Daimler Truck has a stated goal of attaining an adjusted return on sales of more than 12% in the industrial sector by 2030, assuming a favorable market situation.
