e-Ashwa automaker, one of the leading EV makers, has signed its first joint venture with Texor Energy to produce lithium batteries to ramp up vehicle production with a consistent supply of modern batteries for its range of electric three-wheeler vehicles.

As part of the agreement, e-Ashwa Automotive and Texor Energy will produce lithium batteries under the e-Ashwa & Texor brand. This collaboration will enable e-Ashwa Automotive to use its own branded lithium batteries in its diverse range of electric 2-wheelers and 3-wheelers.

e-Ashwa Automotive is expanding its Lithium-Ion battery capabilities, and last month announced a partnership with Neuron Energy, a manufacturer of lithium-ion and lead acid batteries, to source 600 EV battery packs per month and 10,000 battery packs per year. It also recently announced the opening of a new EV Design and Engineering Center in Ghaziabad.

Under its own brand e-Ashwa, e-Ashwa has 12 different models of electric 2-wheelers and a few electric 3-wheeler models. Apart from vehicles such as e-Cargo, e-Garbage, e-School van, and the like in the 3-wheelers verticals, e-Ashwa has its model of e-Rickshaw, e-Loader, and e-Auto under electric 3-wheelers.

e-Ashwa has been selling EV vehicles for the last four years and has so far established 26 Assembly units in various parts of the country with 750+ team members from technical and support function backgrounds, including dedicated Research and Development personnel. It has sold over 18,000 EV products in various categories, including e-scooters, e-motorbikes, e-loaders, e-food carts, and e-garbage vehicles. It has assembly plants in 16 states and a nationwide dealership network of over 1000 dealers.

"Battery is an important part of electric vehicles, and there is a greater need for localized manufacturing to cater to the needs of the Indian market," says Vikas Gupta, Founder & CEO of e-Ashwa Automotive. "e-Ashwa has entered the battery manufacturing space by partnering with Texor Energy, which will help expand its offerings and provide company-owned lithium-ion batteries to our vehicles. As a result of this collaboration, both companies will be able to provide quality battery packs to their customers while also expanding their reach across the country,” he added.
