Partnership between EKA Mobility and Chartered Speed
Coverage across eight major Rajasthan cities
Includes both nine-meter and twelve-meter buses
Complements CESL’s national electric mobility initiatives
EKA Mobility, a leading electric vehicle and technology company, has joined hands with Chartered Speed to deploy 675 electric buses across Rajasthan. This large-scale deployment will take place under the Pradhan Mantri e-Bus Sewa Scheme, which aims to promote cleaner and more sustainable public transport across Indian cities.
The electric buses will be introduced in eight major cities of Rajasthan, including:
Jaipur
Kota
Udaipur
Ajmer
Alwar
Bikaner
Bhilwara
Jodhpur
Out of the 675 buses, 565 will be nine-meter electric buses and 110 will be twelve-meter electric buses. These buses will help improve public transportation in urban areas and reduce pollution by cutting down the use of fossil fuels.
This deployment is part of a bigger project led by Convergence Energy Services Limited (CESL), which is working on expanding electric mobility across India. CESL recently issued a Letter of Confirmation of Quantity (LOCQ) for multiple states, and Rajasthan’s order is among the largest under this national programme.
This new project adds to EKA Mobility’s growing portfolio. The company recently received a contract from Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC)worth around ₹150 crore. In addition, it secured another significant order from Nagpur Municipal Corporation, valued at approximately ₹400 crore. These wins are helping EKA strengthen its position in the electric public transport market in India.
EKA Mobility operates under Pinnacle Mobility Solutions Pvt. Ltd., and is backed by global equity partners Mitsui & Co., Ltd. (Japan) and VDL Groep (Netherlands). The company focuses on designing and manufacturing electric commercial vehicles using modular architecture and lean production systems. Its goal is to make electric mobility more affordable and suitable for large-scale use.
