FADA Releases March’25 EV Retail Sales Data: Tata Motors Leads EV Sales

Tata Motors leads March 2025 EV sales despite a drop in market share, while Mahindra and Switch Mobility show strong growth. Discover key shifts and new entrants in the commercial EV market.

The Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA) has released the Vehicle Retail Data for FY’25 and March 2025, highlighting key shifts in the commercial electric vehicle (EV) segment.

OEM-wise EV Market Share Data for March FY’25 (YoY):

Tata Motors saw a sharp drop in market share, falling from 77.20% in Mar'24 to 33.71% in Mar'25. Its sales dropped from 1,659 units to 324 units in Mar'25.

Mahindra Group slightly improved its market share from 8.00% to 18.11%, with sales increasing from 172 to 174 units in Mar'25.

Switch Mobility Automotive Ltd grew strongly, increasing its market share from 2.70% to 17.27%, with sales rising from 58 to 166 units in Mar'25.

Olectra Greentech Ltd. made a notable increase in sales, jumping from 0.05% to 7.91%, with sales increasing from 1 unit to 76 units in Mar'25.

Euler Motors Pvt Ltd. entered the market with a 3.02% share, selling 29 units in Mar'25 (no sales last year).

AerOEagle Automobiles Pvt Ltd also made a new entry with 2.91% market share and 28 units sold in Mar'25.

PMI Electro Mobility saw a slight decline, with shares falling from 2.33% to 2.60% and sales dropping from 50 to 25 units in Mar'25.

IPL Tech Electric newly entered the list with a 1.25% share and 12 units sold in Mar'25.

Pinnacle Mobility maintained a similar market share, going from 1.02% to 1.04%, though sales dropped from 22 to 10 units in Mar'25.

QUCEV Technologies made its debut with a 0.52% market share, selling 5 units in Mar'25.

JBM Auto sales declined from 3.40% to 0.42%, with sales dropping from 73 to 4 units in Mar'25.

Others slightly decreased in share, moving from 5.30% to 11.24%, with sales going down from 114 to 108 units in Mar'25.

Overall, total EV sales in the commercial vehicle segment dropped from 2,149 units in Mar'24 to 961 units in Mar'25, indicating a slowdown in the monthly market.
