In September 2024, the three-wheeler category saw sales of 1,06,524 units, showing a slight increase of 0.99% from August 2024 and a 0.66% growth compared to September 2023. Here's a breakdown for each category:
In September 2024, sales of E-Rickshaws (P) reached 44,043 units, slightly down from 44,346 units in August 2024, showing a MoM decrease of 0.68%. Compared to September 2023, where 46,712 units were sold, there was a YoY decline of 5.71%.
E-Rickshaws with Cart (G) saw an increase in sales, with 4,569 units sold in September 2024, up by 4.03% from 4,392 units in August 2024. This was a significant YoY growth of 50.39%, compared to 3,038 units sold in September 2023.
Three-Wheelers (Goods) category sold 9,108 units in September 2024, a 5.34% increase from 8,646 units in August 2024. However, YoY sales dropped by 5.04% compared to 9,591 units sold in September 2023.
Three-Wheelers (Passenger) sales reached 48,714 units in September 2024, a 1.48% rise from 48,005 units in August 2024. Compared to 46,404 units sold in September 2023, there was a YoY increase of 4.98%.
For Three-Wheelers (Personal), 90 units were sold in September 2024, showing a slight MoM increase of 1.12% from 89 units in August 2024. This was a YoY growth of 9.76%, up from 82 units sold in September 2023.
In September 2024, the total three-wheeler market recorded sales of 1,06,524 units, reflecting a increase in sales from 1,05,827 units in September 2023. Below is a OEM-wise Sales breakdown:
In September 2024, Bajaj Auto Ltd hold the largest share of the three-wheeler market with 37,425 units sold, accounting for 35.13% of the market. However, this is slightly lower than the 35.93% market share in September 2023 when the comapny sold 38,025 units.
Piaggio Vehicles Pvt Ltd sold 7,778 units in September 2024, making up 7.30% of the market, down from 7.82% in September 2023 with 8,280 units sold.
Mahindra & Mahindra Limited saw growth, selling 6,716 units and capturing 6.30% of the market in September 2024, up from 5.54% the previous year.
YC Electric Vehicle sold 3,826 units, making up 3.59% of the market, slightly lower than their 3.77% share in September 2023 with 3,992 units.
Saera Electric Auto Pvt Ltd's market share decreased to 2.36% in September 2024 with 2,514 units sold, down from 2.97% in September 2023 with 3,140 units.
Atul Auto Ltd maintained a stable market share of 2.05% in September 2024 with 2,182 units sold, similar to their 2.04% share in September 2023 with 2,162 units.
Dilli Electric Auto Pvt Ltd sold 2,097 units in September 2024, capturing 1.97% of the market, down from 2.21% in September 2023 when they sold 2,338 units.
TVS Motor Company Ltd showed growth, selling 2,009 units in September 2024, which accounted for 1.89% of the market, up from 1.34% market share in September 2023 with 1,422 units sold.
Energy Electric Vehicles captured 1.13% of the market with 1,203 units sold in September 2024, a slight increase from 1.09% in September 2023 when they sold 1,155 units.
Unique International saw a small decrease, selling 1,198 units and holding 1.12% of the market in September 2024, compared to 1.25% in September 2023 with 1,324 units.
Mini Metro EV LLP captured 1.10% of the market in September 2024 with 1,175 units sold, down from 1.32% in September 2023 with 1,395 units sold.
Hotage India sold 1,115 units in September 2024, holding 1.05% of the market, a decrease from 1.19% in September 2023 with 1,262 units sold.
The remaining brands, including EV manufacturers, accounted for 35.00% of the market in September 2024 with 37,286 units sold, up from 33.52% in September 2023 with 35,472 units sold.
