The e-three-wheeler has been used to transport pilgrims from Domail to the Baltal base camp and vice versa.

A Kanpur-based NGO has introduced free e-rickshaw services to make the Amarnath Yatra journey more comfortable for the pilgrims. The e-three-wheeler has been used to transport pilgrims from Domail to the Baltal base camp and vice versa.

Pilgrims are frequently fatigued after walking 24 kilometres on rocky terrain to and from the Holy Cave shrine in the south Kashmir Himalayas. After passing through the Domail access-control gates, they have to hike another five kilometres to the Baltal base camp parking lot.

Ponies are also available for the yatra but the rides are not free. Meanwhile, the e-rickshaw service is free. Shiv Sewak Samiti, situated in Kanpur, is one of the companies offering e-rickshaw free rides. The e-rickshaws traverse a distance that would otherwise take an hour in less than ten minutes.

The Shrine Board has offered free space for a stoppage-cum-charging point near the Domel gate to an NGO. Each ride transports five pilgrims, and an e-rickshaw takes roughly 16-18 rides every day. A ride accommodates five people. It is entirely free of charge to pilgrims from both sides.
