Indian government is giving Rs 5 lakh to promote the protection and indigenous breeds of cow and buffalo to increase milk production

The Indian government is running many initiatives to increase milk production nationwide. The Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, and Dairying is also running many government schemes to promote the protection of indigenous breeds of cow and buffalo to increase milk production. To encourage farmers and animal husbandry farmers on a scale, the government launched the National Gokul Mission in December 2014.

So, farmers can learn how to protect these Indian cow and buffalo breeds, increase milk production, and maintain the best quality. The government also rewarded people and technicians who worked in the dairy sector.

Apply for the Indigenous Breed Cow and Buffalo Award

As per the Ministry of Animal Husbandry, Fisheries, and Dairying, eligible farmers and people can apply for the Gopal Ratna award by 30 September 2022. However, if you miss the date, don't worry; you can stay tuned to the official website and wait for further notifications. Rajasthan government's Animal Husbandry minister had requested eligible candidates to apply for the reward as soon as possible.

The government wanted to encourage farmers, technicians, and other people to improve the quality of cow and buffalo milk and increase its production by protecting more indigenous breeds of cows and buffalo.

Award is Divided into Three Different Categories

Under the National Gokul Mission, Gopal Ratna Reward is divided into three categories, first, second, and third. The first prize provides a monetary reward of Rs 5 lakh; the second offers Rs 3 lakh, and the third offers Rs 2 lakh to the winners. The winners will be rewarded on 26 November 2022 in an event.

Eligibility for Gopal Ratna Award

  • There are certain eligibility criteria to apply for the Gopal Ratna Award. This award will only be provided to farmers who meet the predefined eligibility criteria.

  • You must have one of the cows or buffalo mentioned under the list of government for indigenous cows and buffalo. There are 50 different breeds for cows and 17 different breeds for buffalo.

  • If you are a technician certified under National/State/UT/ or other authorized boards and have completed at least 90 days of AI training, you can apply for this monetary program.

Village-level Samiti, set up under Sahkari Samiti Act for milk production, are also eligible. However, if you belong to this category, you must be able to produce 100 liters or more of milk regularly. In addition, you must also have a chain of at least 50 farmers.

How to Apply for Gopal Ratna Pushkar?

The Ministry of Animal Husbandry, Fisheries, and Dairying has invited the National Gopal Ratna Awards application. If you are an Indigenous cow/buffalo or dairy farmer/AI technician, Sahkari Samiti belongs to dairy farming. In that case, you are eligible to apply for the monetary benefit provided by the government.

You can visit the official portal https://awards.gov.in/ and complete the application process. However, if you miss the deadline for the application, don't worry; you can fill out the form when it gets available again.

How Applicants will be Shortlisted for Money Reward?

Below is mentioned the process of shortlisting the winners.

  • First, the Quality Council of India (QCI) or other authorized agency will check the applicants and their details. The authorized agency will score the applicants based on DAHD's guidelines. And based on the final score, it will create a list of the top 20 applicants for the award. All the selected farmers, technicians, or Sahkari Samiti will have to get verified from NDDB/DAHD.

  • The Award Screening Committee will now select top applicants (max. Five per category) and refer to further processes.

  • If needed, a committee can ask the selected agency to run a physical check of the applicant's eligibility criteria.

  • Once the final list of winners gets created, it will be kept and updated on the official website by a given date.

When will the Winners be Announced?

All the selected applicants for Gopal Ratna Award will be announced on 31 October 2022. And the award distribution program will be held on 26 November 2022. So, if you get selected, you will get the monetary benefit and motivation from high authority officers.

Conclusion

If you also met the eligibility criteria and applied for this award program, it can be a golden chance. The top winners will get Rs 5 lakh, Rs 3 lakh, and Rs 2 lakh, respectively. Moreover, winners will also be invited to a special program and awarded in front of many people. So, it's good to apply for the award program if you are eligible.

However, you must not worry; if you missed the deadline for form filling, you could stay tuned with CMV360. We keep sharing such government schemes and news that are helpful for farmers.
