Greaves Electric Mobility 3W (GEM 3W)'s electric three-wheeler passenger vehicle, the Greaves Eltra City, has traveled a significant distance on a single charge. The electric three-wheeler traveled 225 kilometers from Bangalore to Mysore, passing some important sights along the way.
"Eltra City Freedom Ride" on Independence Day
The event, called the "Eltra City Freedom Ride," was planned to coincide with Independence Day celebrations. It aimed to illustrate the vehicle's range and promote the concept of lower fuel use.
K Vijaya Kumar, Director of GEM 3W, said the achievement demonstrates the company's electric vehicle technology and dedication to sustainable urban mobility solutions.
The Greaves Eltra City features a 10.8 kWh lithium-ion battery and a 9.6 kW motor. It has a payload capacity of 528 kg and comes with 14-degree gradability, 49 Nm of peak torque, and hill hold assist. The vehicle is meant to reduce maintenance costs while increasing uptime.
Throughout the journey, the three-wheeler was driven in Eco mode to demonstrate range optimisation to potential consumers. This strategy was chosen to alleviate potential issues with range disparities.
Greaves Electric Mobility Private Limited, with the support of Greaves Cotton Ltd., seeks to help India achieve its energy sustainability and carbon emission reduction targets. The company's primary goal is to create an ecosystem for cost-effective and sustainable last-mile transportation solutions.
