GreenLine Mobility plans to add 1,000 LNG trucks by March 2025 to support India’s sustainable logistics and reduce emissions.

Key Highlights

GreenLine Mobility Solutions, part of Essar’s green mobility project, is on a mission to make India’s logistics sector more environmentally friendly. The company aims to add 1,000 new LNG (liquefied natural gas) trucks to its fleet by March 2025. This initiative supports the Indian government’s plan to convert one-third of long-haul heavy-duty trucks to LNG by 2030.

Why LNG Trucks?

India is pushing for LNG as a cleaner alternative to diesel for long-distance trucking. This change is crucial for reducing pollution and achieving the country’s goal of reaching net-zero emissions by 2070. GreenLine Mobility currently operates more than 500 LNG-powered trucks and is well-positioned to meet the growing demand for sustainable logistics solutions.

Features of GreenLine's LNG Trucks

GreenLine uses Blue Energy BE 5528 Plus 4x2 models, which are heavy-duty trucks capable of carrying 55 tonnes. These trucks can travel up to 1,200 kilometers on a single tank, making them highly efficient for long journeys. They also feature advanced fleet telematics and six levels of ADAS (Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems), allowing customers to monitor vehicle performance and manage their fleets effectively.

To ensure optimal use of LNG technology, GreenLine invests in training programs for drivers. These programs help enhance driving skills and maximize performance on the road. Looking ahead, GreenLine plans to introduce electric vehicles for short-haul transportation, further expanding its eco-friendly offerings.

Major Clients

GreenLine serves various prestigious clients, including industry leaders such as Vedanta Group, JSW Steel & Cement, Tata Steel, Hindustan Zinc, Nestle, and others. These partnerships highlight GreenLine's commitment to providing reliable and sustainable logistics solutions.

Official Statements

Anand Mimani, CEO of GreenLine Mobility Solutions, emphasized the company’s dedication to sustainability. He stated, “At GreenLine, we believe that sustainable logistics is not just a responsibility but an opportunity to lead the way toward a greener future.” He also noted that their initiatives have achieved a 30% reduction in CO2 emissions compared to traditional diesel vehicles, which equals a decrease of 6,722 tonnes of carbon emissions.

Mimani added, “By integrating electric vehicles into our operations, we aim to complement our LNG initiatives and provide a comprehensive suite of sustainable transport options.
