Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has partnered with CHARGE ZONE to improve EV charging infrastructure throughout India. CHARGE ZONE will install DC 60 kW fast chargers at 100 Hyundai stores countrywide as part of this agreement.

Jae Wan Ryu, Function Head - Corporate Planning, HMIL, and Kartikey Hariyani, Founder and CEO of CHARGE ZONE, signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at HMIL's headquarters in Gurugram, Haryana.

HMIL now operates 34 EV fast charging stations across the country. This new endeavor will considerably expand the network, increasing accessibility and lowering range anxiety among EV users.

Jae Wan Ryu noted, "All EV customers (Hyundai and non-Hyundai) would benefit from the enlarged network of DC fast charging stations, accessible through the'myHyundai' app or the 'CHARGE ZONE' app. Such strategic relationships are critical for speeding customer uptake of electric mobility solutions and meeting India's carbon neutrality targets."

Currently, 19 Hyundai dealerships have DC 60 kW public EV charging stations. With the new agreement, an additional 100 charging stations will be built, providing a dependable and hassle-free charging experience, as well as a 24-hour customer support system.

HMIL's comprehensive EV plan includes considerable expenditures in establishing a robust EV charging network equipped with DC 180 kW and DC 60 kW chargers. Aside from the dealership network, HMIL runs 15 additional fast charging stations in key cities and roads throughout nine Indian states.

HMIL has also created a specific Charging Management System (CMS) platform, "EV Charge," which is integrated into the "myHyundai" mobile app. This platform provides EV customers from all OEM manufacturers with a seamless charging experience that includes charging point location, booking, remote monitoring, and digital payments.

The CHARGE ZONE charger network is also included into the "EV Charge" area of the "myHyundai" app, alongside HMIL's own chargers and those from third-party charging point operators.
