The IAA TRANSPORTATION 2022 will be held in Hanover from September 20th to September 25th. After a long break caused by the epidemic, the world's largest transport and logistics platform returns with a new revolutionary concept. The new idea, which was once known as IAA Commercial Vehicles and concentrated on light and heavy commercial vehicles, now encompasses all aspects of logistics and transportation. On September 20th, Lower Saxony's Minister President Stephan Weil, Hanover's Lord Mayor Belit Onay, and VDA President Hildegard Müller will inaugurate IAA TRANSPORTATION.

"IAA TRANSPORTATION brings to the public's attention a business that is crucial to daily life: commercial vehicles, whether small or large, are essential pillars for a functioning economy - both for transportation and logistics. Innovative and sustainable solutions from the industry are already making a significant contribution to climate protection. This includes buses, which will be highlighted at the IAA this year. We can't wait to show off many of the industry's exciting developments and remarkable new products at this IAA," said Hildegard Müller, President of the VDA.

VDA CEO Jürgen Mindel is overjoyed with the degree of interest in IAA Transportation: "the innovative concept received an exceptionally good response. All of the intended hall spaces are completely booked. We have a bigger share of overseas exhibitors and partners this year than in prior years. More than 1,400 exhibitors from 42 countries will showcase their ideas and concepts. International and national manufacturers, as well as suppliers, infrastructure providers, bus makers, technology businesses, start-ups, and, for the first time, cargo bike manufacturers, are among them. And exhibitors of trailers, truck trailers, and superstructure constructors, as well as suppliers, are so typically well represented, being by far the largest groupings of exhibitors. This year, we have around 260 trailer and special body exhibitors and nearly 600 suppliers."

"The IAA Transportation is being held in an extremely challenging economic environment,” emphasized Müller, and the forecast for international commercial vehicle markets has been adjusted accordingly: "Given the current tense economic situation and high level of uncertainty, we only expect a slight 5% increase in the heavy-duty European commercial vehicle market this year. We had to reduce our projection for the US commercial market from 5% to 2%. We have just reduced our 2022 projection for the Chinese heavy-duty commercial vehicle market from -20% to -35%."

"Despite this, corporations are continuing to invest and innovate with commitment and determination in order to realize climate-neutral and digital transportation systems. At IAA, the entire industry will demonstrate how successful it is already and how its solutions are creating global norms. The new idea will allow this IAA to focus on the innovations and trends being implemented along the route to climate-neutral logistics, while also allowing visitors to grasp, investigate, and observe these advancements up close. We are looking forward to your visit," Müller added.
