In April 2023, Tata Motors Limited sold 69,599 automobiles in both domestic and foreign markets, compared to 72,468 units in April 2022. The company ended the month of April 2023 with a 28% decrease in domestic commercial vehicle sales and a 3% increase in export commercial vehicle sales. Commercial vehicle sales are declining overall.

Total commercial vehicle sales were 22,492 units, a decrease of 27% from 30,838 units in April 2022.

HCV and ILMCV Trucks

The company experienced a 6% drop in the HCV Trucks category and a 62% drop in the ILMCV category. The brand sold 6984 units in April 2023 under the HCV Trucks category, compared to 7425 units sold in April 2022.

The ILMCV truck category, on the other hand, reported sales of 2148 units in April 2023, compared to 5607 units in April 2022.

Passenger Carriers and SCV cargo and pickup Category

The company experienced a 4% and 30% drop in the Passenger Carriers and SCV cargo and pickup Categories, respectively. In the Passenger Carriers category, the brand sold 2061 units in April 2023, compared to 2137 units sold in April 2022.

In the SCV cargo and pickup category, the brand sold 10314 units in April 2023, compared to 14711 units sold in April 2022.

Total sales for the MH&ICV Domestic & global business, which includes trucks and buses, were 9,364 units in April 2023, compared to 12,524 units in April 2022.
