JBM Auto, a leading automotive manufacturer, has unveiled its ambitious plan to launch an extensive fleet of electric buses in the breathtaking Western Ghats region.

The initiative is expected to revolutionize public transportation in the ecologically sensitive area, offering visitors and residents a greener and more enjoyable way to traverse the picturesque landscapes.

With over 5,000 electric buses on order across the country, Gurgaon-based JBM Auto plans to expand its commercial e-mobility fleet, adding to Goa its Electric footprint for intra- and inter-city and tarmac buses, which the bus maker showcased at the ongoing three-day Panaji transport fair.

In India, up to 70 JBM Auto-built electric tarmac buses operate at various airports. Aside from interstate coaches, city, staff, and school buses, the total orders comprise the same variant.

The company, which has a market value of Rs 16,635 crore, is attempting to address the issue of payment securitisation for STU orders by adopting various measures such as the addition of escrow agreements, among others. Nishant Arya went on to say this while speaking at a three-day transport fair in Goa.

These electric buses are set to operate on various routes within the Western Ghats, connecting major cities, towns, and popular tourist destinations. The company has collaborated with local authorities and environmental organizations to ensure the seamless integration of the eco-friendly transportation system while preserving the region's delicate ecosystem.

The move comes as a part of JBM Auto's broader commitment to sustainability and mitigating environmental impacts in the transportation sector. By replacing conventional diesel-powered buses with electric alternatives, the company aims to significantly reduce carbon emissions and combat air pollution in the Western Ghats region.

Moreover, the silent and emissions-free operation of the electric buses promises to preserve the tranquil ambience of the area, enhancing the overall tourist experience.

JBM Auto's strategic move is seen as a significant step forward in achieving the region's sustainability goals and aligning with the broader global efforts to combat climate change.

As the Western Ghats continue to attract nature enthusiasts, adventurers, and spiritual seekers from around the world, JBM Auto's commitment to sustainable transportation will play a pivotal role in preserving the region's natural beauty and cultural heritage for generations to come.

With the launch of these electric buses, the company aims to set a precedent for other automotive manufacturers to follow, driving India's transition towards a greener and more sustainable future.
