July 2022 Auto Sales: Tata Motors reports good CV sales in July.

Tata Motors' July CV sales increased by 51% to 81,790 cars, up from 54,119 units in the same period the previous year, led by M&HCVs and passenger carriers. Even when compared to its June performance, sales have increased significantly, with a more than one-fold rise over the 34,409 units sold the previous month, when it led to domestic CV retail sales.

In the domestic market, the OEM sold 78,978 units, a 52 per cent increase over the 51,981 units sold in July of last year. In the first quarter of FY2023, the company registered 95,895 CV wholesales in the domestic market, a 124 per cent increase from a pandemic-impacted Q1 in FY2022. Exports, on the other hand, fell by 22% in Q1 to 5,218 units due to a financial crisis in a few export markets.

The July medium and heavy commercial vehicle sales were 8,522 units, representing a 57 per cent increase over the previous July's total of 5,416 cars sold.

Light commercial vehicle sales increased by 33% to 4,475 units, up from 3,357 units sold in the same month last year. The passenger carrier segment grew threefold year on year. Tata Motors increased its sales of SCV freight and pickup trucks by 23% year on year.

The company's CV exports increased by 23 per cent year on year to 2,681 vehicles, up from 2,052 units exported in July of last year. Domestic MH&ICV sales, comprising trucks and buses, nearly doubled to 12,012 units in July 2021, up from 7,813 units in July 2021.
