Magenta Mobility, a leading integrated electric mobility solutions provider, and Switch Mobility, the Hinduja Group's electric vehicle subsidiary, recently formed a partnership to buy 500 SWITCH IeV4 vehicles over the next two years.
This collaboration corresponds with Magenta Mobility's FY 24-25 expansion objectives to expand the eLCV segment and contributes to its ambitious 'Ab Ki Baar Dus Hazaar' project, which aims to deploy 10,000 electric vehicles by September 2025.
The alliance aims to set new benchmarks in the EV logistics and transportation industry by combining Switch Mobility's sophisticated electric vehicle technology with Magenta Mobility's entire service portfolio, which includes logistics, charging, and technological solutions.
The signing event for the memorandum of understanding (MoU) included a key handover and vehicle flag-off. The event was attended by Maxson Lewis, Founder & CEO of Magenta Mobility, Mahesh Babu, CEO of Switch Mobility, and other clients.
Maxson Lewis, Founder & CEO of Magenta Mobility, stated, "With these eLCVs, we will offer increased payload capacity to our clients, along with our existing fleet management, charging, and technology platforms, creating a strong opportunity for the logistics sector to go electric."
The SWITCH IeV4 has a 32.2 kWh battery, a payload capacity of 1,700 kg, and a large cargo space, providing a range of 120 km. Its 60 kW motor and 230 Nm torque give best performance, while the SWITCH iON system—a unique, connected technology telemetry solution—allows for smarter, more cost-effective fleet operations.
Mahesh Babu, CEO of Switch Mobility, highlighted the potential of their SWITCH IeV4 electric vehicle, India's first eLCV in the 3.5-tonne category. Built on a cutting-edge 310V high-voltage design, the vehicle provides improved performance, increased payload, longer range, and maximum volumetric space, all of which contribute to a much lower total cost of ownership (TCO).
