Commercial vehicle journalists from 24 European nations have chosen the battery-electric Mercedes-Benz eActros 600 as the International Truck of the Year 2025. The award is the most prestigious in the industry.

Innovative Features and Long-Range Capabilities

The eActros 600 impressed the jury with its advanced drive technology, high energy efficiency, and a range of 500 kilometres without intermediate charging. This truck is a part of the 'eActros 600 European Testing Tour 2024', a more than 15,000-kilometer-long, all-electric development journey through 22 countries, with a gross combination mass of 40 tons.

Award Ceremony at IAA Transportation 2024

Karin Rådström, CEO of Mercedes-Benz Trucks, received the award at the IAA Transportation 2024 event in Hanover. The jury praised the eActros 600 for being purpose-built as an electric truck, highlighting its suitability for long-distance transport. This is the 10th time Mercedes-Benz Trucks has won the prestigious title since the award’s inception in 1977.

Praise for Powertrain and Aerodynamics

The eActros 600 was highly rated by journalists for its aerodynamics, crucial for reducing energy consumption in long-haul applications. The truck’s new electric axle and high-efficiency powertrain, featuring two electric motors and a four-speed transmission, deliver a continuous output of 400 kW and a peak output of 600 kW.

Journalists also noted the smooth acceleration, vibration-free environment, and the Predictive Powertrain Control system for efficient driving.

Production Begins in November 2024

The eActros 600 will enter series production in November 2024 at the Mercedes-Benz plant in Wörth. With a battery capacity of over 600 kilowatt hours, the truck is set to revolutionize long-distance transport.

It can cover up to 1,000 kilometres per day with intermediate charging during driver breaks, and future models will support megawatt charging for faster recharges.
