Movin has introduced Electric Vehicles (EVs) to its fleet for first and last-mile deliveries. The EV deployment begins with Delhi-NCR and will eventually encompass Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore, Kolkata, and Pune by the end of 2023. The EVs were launched from the Bilaspur Hub in Gurugram.

Movin, a logistics brand developed by UPS and InterGlobe Enterprises, has introduced Electric Vehicles (EV) to its fleet for first and last-mile deliveries. With the goal of reducing carbon emissions and aligning with its long-term sustainability goals, the EV deployment begins with Delhi-NCR and will eventually encompass Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore, Kolkata, and Pune by the end of 2023.

Within a year of its launch, the company's Express End-of-Day network had expanded from three cities to 49 locations across India. MOVIN serves customers in a variety of industries, including IT & electronic peripherals, fashion, healthcare equipment, auto components, e-Commerce, pharma, consumer durables, and FMCG.

The EVs were launched from the Bilaspur Hub in Gurugram. JB Singh, Director of MOVIN Express, and Gregory Goba-Ble, Vice President for UPS in the Indian subcontinent, Middle East, and Africa and Director for MOVIN Express were present at the event.

MOVIN's decision to include EVs in its operations was influenced by the government's emphasis on sustainable logistics solutions and the growing popularity of EVs. MOVIN intends to expand its fleet size in its core markets.

MOVIN actively participates in initiatives within and around its hubs, extending help to the local communities, and demonstrating its constant dedication to the community.

MOVIN consistently strives to make a positive difference in society, by providing internships in the field of supply chain and logistics management for students across India in collaboration with CII. As a result, it organizes impactful initiatives such as tree plantations, book painting for donation, motivational talks, meal preparations, and classroom painting for underprivileged children.

With the progressive improvement of charging infrastructure by state governments, the company intends to expand its fleet size in its major regions. With the EV deployment, the company hopes to reduce 200 tons of CO2 emissions over the following year. Each EV has the capacity to transport up to 850 kgs of weight and can travel 120 km on a single charge.

"As a new age climate-conscious brand launched in 2022, we are excited to announce the introduction of commercial EVs as our first and last mile fleet in the five metros by December 2023. We not only contribute to a cleaner and greener future by embracing the shift to an electric fleet from ICEs, but we also improve the efficiency and reliability of our logistics operations," stated JB Singh, Director of Movin Express.

"This is an exciting new chapter for us. At Movin Express, we're accelerating our efforts to decarbonize our operations," stated Gregory Goba Ble, UPS Vice President.
