Pirelli's R&D department has applied a number of unique innovations to the P Zero Trofeo RS.
This new generation of Pirelli semi-slick tyres has improved dry performance as well as increased consistency.
Pirelli introduces the P Zero Trofeo RS, the most recent iteration of the semi-slick tyre designed for car manufacturers. This tyre is designed to highlight the performance of sports car models. Pagani Automobili was the first to request a specific version of the new tyre for its latest hypercar, the Utopia.
The new tyre was designed as a technical progression of the P Zero Trofeo R and distinguishes itself in the market as well. According to Pirelli, the P Zero Trofeo R was initially designed as an aftermarket tyre to improve on-track performance, whereas the P Zero Trofeo RS is primarily intended as original equipment, giving manufacturers the opportunity to supply cars that are already primed for a sports driving experience from the start.

This new generation of Pirelli semi-slick tyres will provide improved dry performance as well as increased consistency. When the tyre is used most intensively, performance is maintained for longer, allowing for more speed and safety across multiple track sessions: a result attained thanks to Pirelli's significant experience in the world's top motorsport categories.
The materials utilized, particularly in the tread pattern compound, fully exploit that expertise, adapting it to both road and amateur track use. Pirelli's engineers focused on safety in wet asphalt situations because this tyre is original equipment for road-legal hypercars and supercars.
Pirelli's R&D department has applied a number of unique innovations to the P Zero Trofeo RS. These are available from an on-demand portfolio in order to meet the targets set by manufacturers for each model. Multi-compound Tread is an example of a technology that allows tyres to be customised to fit the unique characteristics of each vehicle by matching them to different tread pattern compounds from Pirelli's Prestige collection.
P Zero Trofeo RS tyres capable of improving performance in extreme sports driving compared to the P Zero Corsa were sought for the Pagani Utopia, without affecting the car's balance or the driver's enjoyment. This aim was fulfilled in large part due to the compounds used. The most performance-focused compounds were chosen for the rear tyres in order to give speed and safety on the track as well as ease and predictability on the road.
Another innovation available to Pirelli's engineers was Virtual Geometry Development, which allowed them to evaluate a large number of possible profiles and footprints using virtual modelling in order to characterize the tyres' sensitivity to driver inputs with the greatest precision.
Before the first actual prototypes were driven on the track, the Pagani Utopia underwent substantial virtual development. To provide the best grip and control, the contact patch received a lot of attention.
The new Pirelli P Zero Trofeo RS is now available for automobiles that use it as original equipment, and a wide choice of aftermarket tyres will be available in the future. The P Zero Trofeo R will continue to be available in a limited number of sizes.
