PMI Electro Mobility has delivered 20 electric buses to Kadamba Transport Corporation (KTCL), the state transport initiative of Goa, as part of a commitment to provide 48 electric buses by July 2023. This is a huge step towards the state's electrification of public transit.
Goa is a major tourist destination in the country, and the addition of electric buses would contribute to the state's clean environment. Each electric bus has a range of 180 kilometres on a single charge. The buses will be charged at PMI's cutting-edge electric bus depots.

These electric buses, which will be operated by the state-owned Kadamba Transport Corporation Limited, were unveiled by Chief Minister Pramod Sawant.
Dr Pramod Sawant, Chief Minister of Goa, presided over the event, which was also attended by Shripad Y. Naik, Minister of State for Tourism and Ports, Mauvin Godinho, Minister of Transport, Shri Vishwajit P. Rane, Hon'ble Minister for Urban Development and Health, Atanasio Monserrate, Minister of Revenue and Labour, and Ulhas Y. Tuenkar, Chairman, KTCL and MLA of Navelim.
Satish Jain, Chairman of PMI Electro Mobility, stated that by using electric buses, PMI will help Goa's public transportation system become cleaner and help the state avoid more than 13,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions over a 10-year period in its journey toward clean mobility.
For effective bus operation and to offer Goa residents dependable services, PMI will operate and manage these buses with tech-enabled electric bus depots. These e-bus depots will also assist with regular bus maintenance to ensure zero downtime.
PMI electric bus has an annual capacity of 1500 electric CVs. According to the press release, PMI is India's largest electric bus firm, with over 1,000 e-buses operating in 26 locations across the country.
