Rapido Launches Largest Electric Autorickshaw Fleet in Bangalore

Rapido has taken a significant step in the electric vehicle sector by introducing the largest fleet of electric autorickshaws in Bangalore. The ride-hailing company has deployed over 4,000 EV autorickshaws (electric three-wheeler) that operate in two shifts. These vehicles have collectively completed more than 2.25 million rides, covering a total of 15.6 million kilometers.

Environmental Impact

This initiative has delivered considerable environmental advantages to Bangalore. Through its electric autorickshaws, Rapido has successfully reduced carbon dioxide emissions by more than 1,036 tons. Rapido demonstrates that sustainability and economic growth can coexist by minimizing its carbon footprint.

Economic Benefits for Drivers

Pavan Guntupalli, Co-founder of Rapido, highlighted that the EV initiative has also created sustainable job opportunities for the city's gig workforce. The autorickshaw drivers have collectively earned a total of INR 178 million.
