Saietta VNA has designed a new eMotor exclusively for the Indian market and is currently building a high-tech eDrive production plant in Delhi. The company has manufactured a new Radial Flux Technology (RFT) electronic motor for light two- and three-wheelers.
Saietta VNA, a joint venture between Saietta Group plc (Saietta) and Padmini VNA, is carrying out its 'Make in India' strategy, with plans to begin volume manufacturing of eDrive (electric drive) in the nation by 2023.
The Padmini VNA company stated today that it is building a new state-of-the-art plant in Delhi-NCR to manufacture axial flux technology (AFT) and radial flux technology (RFT) electric motors for electric three-wheelers. The exterior of the plant is already in the first quarter of 2022. The tooling and equipment installation will commence in the first quarter of 2023.
It has also appointed a new managing director to oversee the joint venture's commercial and technical activities, as well as a new non-executive director with considerable Indian market knowledge.
With a portfolio of technology geared for rapid integration into a wide range of vehicles and marine craft, Saietta Group Plc is a specialist in providing adaptable eDrive solutions for electric vehicles. Saietta VNA has also appointed Pradumna Walimbe as its new CEO, who will oversee the company's operations in India. Dr Sesha Bhagavathula is also on the Board of Directors as a non-executive director.
Dr Bhagavatula has a successful career in the Indian automotive business, and he joined the Saietta Group in 2021. Dr Bhagavatula has worked with Ashok Leyland Group, Great Wall Motor Company, Daimler Trucks, and Daimler Chrysler AG.

Saietta VNA claims to provide a variety of off-the-shelf e-Drive light-duty solutions to vehicle manufacturers in India. These solutions will help them in meeting the rapidly expanding need for clean and sustainable mobility in major cities.
The RFT85-65 was designed specifically for the Indian market by the Saietta Light Duty e-Drive (LDE) team in collaboration with Saietta VNA. The tiny air-cooled unit provides 4kW of continuous power at 48V and has appealing attributes of lightweight and efficiency. The engine can be fully integrated with the power electronics and transmission of the Saietta.
