Tata Motors has supplied over 1,500 electric buses across different cities in India, with a total mileage of more than 10 million kilometers and an uptime of more than 95%.
The newly launched buses for ASTC are equipped with electronic stability control, electronic brake distribution, air suspension, Intelligent Transport System (ITS), and panic buttons, among other advanced features.
Assam State Transport Corporation (ASTC) has received 100 electric buses from Tata Motors, India's largest commercial vehicle manufacturer. The buses were launched on January 1, 2024, by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.
According to the news release, the zero-emission buses are developed in-house on next-generation architecture, are outfitted with the newest technologies, and are powered by modern battery systems. These buses are eco-friendly, built with cutting-edge technology and carefully tested under varying situations, and will make public transit safer, more comfortable, more advanced, and more efficient.
