Tata Motors to Increase Commercial Vehicle Prices in January 2025

This is the fourth price hike by Tata Motors this year.

Tata Motors has announced a 2% price hike on its trucks and buses, effective from 1st January, 2025. The increase, driven by higher input costs, will apply to all models and variants, though the exact price change will vary depending on the model.

Price Hikes in 2024

This is the fourth price hike by Tata Motors this year. The first increase came in January, with up to a 3% rise in prices. The second hike occurred in April, covering the impact of previous input costs, and the third hike was in July, with a price increase of up to 2%. All commercial vehicles were affected by these price hikes.

Tata Motors Commercial Vehicle Launched in 2024

Ultra T.9 and Ultra T.14

In February, Tata Motors launched the Ultra range of heavy-duty trucks, Ultra T.9 and Ultra T.14, in South Africa. These trucks are best for logistics tasks like FMCG, agriculture, and construction. These trucks offer more power and torque output. The Ultra T.9 is powered by a 3.3L engine, and the Ultra T.14 has a 5.0L engine. Both trucks feature parabolic suspension, a walk-through cabin, power steering, and a booster-assisted clutch.

Magic Bi-Fuel

In April, Tata Motors introduced the Magic Bi-Fuel variant, which is powered by a 694cc engine with both CNG and petrol. It offers a total range of 380 km and a warranty of 2 years or 72,000 km. It features an eco switch and improved driver ergonomics.

Ace EV 1000

In May, Tata Motors launched the Ace EV 1000, an electric mini truck with a higher-rated payload of 1 tonne and a certified range of 161 km on a single charge. The truck is powered by an EVOGEN powertrain and it offers 130 Nm of peak torque, fast charging capabilities, and a 7-year battery warranty.

Tata Ultra EV 7M

In August, Tata Motors launched the Tata Ultra EV 7M, an electric bus designed for urban mobility. It has a range of up to 160 km on a single charge, with fast charging capability. The bus features advanced safety features like electronic braking, stability control, and an Intelligent Transport System (ITS).

Tata Motors continues to innovate and introduce new solutions for both commercial and passenger transport, reinforcing its position in the automotive market.

The price hike by Tata Motors is a direct response to the increasing input costs, which is understandable given the current economic pressures. While it's not ideal for customers, the consistent updates to Tata's vehicle lineup, including electric and bi-fuel models, show that the company is working to deliver more efficient and modern solutions. 

This price increase seems necessary to keep up with these advancements and ensure that the vehicles remain of high quality and performance.
