The facility is a result of a partnership with Axom Platinum Scrappers. The plant can process up to 15,000 old vehicles every year. It will recycle both passenger and commercial vehicles from different brands. The operation is fully digital and paperless, with special areas for dismantling vehicle parts like tyres, batteries, and fluids, all following strict environmental rules.
Local leaders, including Transport Minister Jogen Mohan and Health Minister Ashok Singhal, praised the facility. They believe it will create jobs and help improve the environment in Assam.
This new center in Guwahati adds to Tata Motors’ existing vehicle scrapping facilities in cities like Jaipur, Bhubaneswar, Surat, Chandigarh, Delhi NCR, and Pune. It shows Tata Motors’ commitment to responsible vehicle disposal, as part of India’s vehicle scrappage policy.
