Tata Motors secures a 1,000 diesel bus chassis order from UPSRTC, boosting Uttar Pradesh’s public transport with reliable solutions.

Key Highlights

Tata Motors has secured an order to supply 1,000 diesel bus chassis to the Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC). The company will deliver its LPO 1618 model diesel bus chassis in phases, according to a deal reached with UPSRTC.

This new order follows the successful supply of 1,350 bus chassis to UPSRTC last year, which have been operating across Uttar Pradesh, helping improve both intercity and long-distance travel. Tata Motors won this new contract through a competitive government e-bidding process.

Despite the growing push for eco-friendly CNG or electric buses in some regions, UPSRTC has opted for Tata's BSVI Phase-2 diesel buses. These buses are designed to be cleaner than older diesel models, providing a more environmentally friendly option while maintaining strong performance.

Anand S, Vice President and Head of the Commercial Passenger Vehicle Business at Tata Motors, said the LPO 1618 chassis is built for reliability, low maintenance, and cost efficiency, making it a smart choice for public transport. The partnership with UPSRTC aims to strengthen the public transport system in Uttar Pradesh by offering durable, cost-effective mobility solutions.

Tata Motors continues to focus on delivering efficient transport solutions, helping meet the demand for improved public transport infrastructure across the state.
