Key Highlights:

ZF’s Commercial Vehicle Solutions (CVS) division has secured a long-term agreement with Ford Trucks for e-mobility technologies. Ford Trucks, the heavy commercial vehicle brand of Ford, will equip its future electric trucks with ZF’s latest zero-emissions technologies. This partnership highlights ZF’s position as a leading supplier of electric drives in Europe.

Leading the Shift to Sustainable Transportation

ZF board member Prof. Dr. Peter Laier emphasized that this partnership strengthens their leading position in the electric commercial vehicle market. He expressed confidence in ZF's ability to support the transformation toward sustainable transportation solutions.

Emrah Duman, Ford Trucks’ vice president, noted that Ford Trucks values trusted relationships and sustainability with its suppliers. He also added that this agreement aligns with Ford Trucks’ mission to develop innovative and sustainable commercial vehicles.

CeTrax 2: ZF’s Electric Drive Technology

ZF will initially supply its CeTrax 2 dual electric central drive for Ford Trucks' Electric Rigid Truck, which will debut at the IAA Transportation 2024. ZF will also provide additional electric drive variants for future models as they enter production.

The compact and modular design of the CeTrax 2 series allows it to be easily installed in the same space as a conventional internal combustion engine (ICE) transmission. This flexibility helps manufacturers transition smoothly from traditional engines to electric drives.

Efficient Steering Solutions

In addition to the CeTrax 2 drive, ZF will equip Ford Trucks' Electric Rigid Truck with its Electrically Powered Hydraulic Steering Pump (EPHS). This e-motor-powered steering pump provides efficient hydraulic flow, enabling the truck's steering system to operate independently of the vehicle's drivetrain.
