As part of its Green Mobility initiative, Ashok Leyland introduces the AVTR UF3522, India's first certified LNG-fueled truck, which has been fully evaluated and adapted for Indian operating circumstances.

The AVTR UF3522 is the next step in expanding the offers in the alternative fuel category. The truck has been tested for optimal capacity for Indian operating circumstances through extensive R&D. LNG is regarded as the natural gas economy's future, giving lower on-road total carbon emissions than alternatives like as CNG, which will contribute to India's objective of attaining net zero carbon emissions by 2027.

The AVTR UF3522 is India's first certified LNG-fueled truck verified and optimized for Indian operating conditions, as part of Ashok Leyland's green mobility drive.

The Automotive Research Association of India has granted Ashok Leyland India's first LNG Fueled Truck Central Motor Vehicle Rules (CMVR) certificate for the AVTR UF3522 and its derivatives (ARAI). According to the business, the AVTR UF3522 is the next step in expanding its services.

The LNG AVTR UF 3522 truck has the advantage of being built on the tried-and-true H6 Engine platform. The integration with the AVTR modular platform shares 80% of its diesel parts and allows for smooth application across segments ranging from 19T to 42T. The LNG truck has a 220hp 700Nm engine with torque comparable to a diesel engine for Indian operating conditions.

According to the business, the torque of the new LNG truck has been kept from Ashok Leyland's diesel variations, ensuring no loss in drivability across applications. LNG trucks have three times the fuel capacity of CNG trucks, giving them a longer range. In addition, the vehicle has the option of a twin LNG tank, which enables the highest ever range of 1500 kilometers in a single fill.

"AVTR UF3522 is an endeavour to deliver the clean and safe vehicle to all our stakeholders," stated Dr N Saravanan, Chief Technology Officer at Ashok Leyland. He also added, "Our LNG vehicle is built on our tried-and-true modular truck architecture, AVTR, and is powered by an H6 engine to give greater range and operability across all functions and industries."

Features Of this truck

  • The haulage truck is built on the tried-and-true H6 Engine platform.
  • The new fuel platform is highly connected with the AVTR modular platform, sharing 80% of its diesel elements and being applicable across segments ranging from 19T to 42T.
  • The 220hp engine with 700Nm torque and torque matching diesel driveability for Indian driving circumstances.
  • Ashok Leyland's Patented* double tank option allows for a maximum range of 1500+ kilometers on a single fill.
  • Low maintenance by increasing the oil change interval to 20k kilometers.
