Switch Mobility, a Hinduja Group firm that manufactures next-generation carbon-neutral electric buses and light commercial vehicles, has delivered six Switch Solo electric buses to Translink, Northern Ireland's principal public transportation provider.
According to the corporation, four buses will travel routes in the Coleraine area, with the remaining two transporting people to the Giant's Causeway.
''With the UK electric bus market experiencing continuous expansion, we are thrilled to have delivered the recent order of Switch Solos to Translink. Our Switch Solo EVs are proof of this, and we are thrilled to see them join others already in service on Northern Ireland's roads. We appreciate Translink's confidence in our goods and services. This collaboration exemplifies our common aim of a greener, more sustainable future for all. We look forward to continuing to collaborate with Translink and other clients to effect positive change in the transportation business,'' said Mahesh Babu, CEO of Switch Mobility.

"We're making real progress on this important zero emissions project which will see new state-of-the-art mini-bus battery electric vehicles (BEVs) enter passenger service on the Causeway Coast later this summer - the first zero-emission buses to operate on the Translink Ulsterbus network. This initiative contributes to our aim of reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 50% by 2030 and operating a net zero emissions fleet across Northern Ireland by 2040, which is critical for addressing the climate emergency and driving change for future generations," said Sarah Simpson, Translink Business Change Manager.
