According to the firm, these zero-emission buses are developed in-house on next-generation architecture, are outfitted with cutting-edge technologies, and are powered by modern battery systems. They are intended to provide a safe, comfortable, and convenient intra-city commute throughout Delhi's National Capital Territory. Tata Motors has reached a critical milestone by supplying over 1,000 e-buses around the country with this deployment.

The handover ceremony took place at the DTC's headquarters in the heart of the capital city. DTC officials, government representatives, and Tata Motors executives were present to witness this historic moment. The event showcased the company's commitment to green mobility and aligning with India's ambitious goals for electrification.
The fleet of 400 e-buses was inducted and flagged off by Vinai Kumar Saxena, Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, and Arvind Kejriwal, Chief Minister of Delhi. Kailash Gahlot, Minister of Law, Revenue, Transport, Women and Child Development, Information Technology, and Administrative Reform, Government of Delhi; Naresh Kumar, IAS, Chief Secretary, Government of Delhi; Ashish Kundra, Commissioner-cum-Principal Secretary (Transport), Government of Delhi; and Ms. Shilpa Shinde, IAS, Managing Director, DTC were among those present at the flag-ff.
The zero-emission Tata Starbus EV optimizes energy use with its full-electric drivetrain, resulting in reduced energy usage and operational expenses.
The DTC, which operates one of the largest fleets of buses in India, has been actively pursuing electric mobility to reduce the environmental impact of public transportation. These 400 Tata Starbus EVs will make a significant dent in the city's carbon emissions, helping to combat the pressing issue of air pollution in the Delhi-NCR region.
These buses are equipped with advanced safety features such as easy boarding, comfortable seating, and user-friendly operations. Among other things, it has electronic stability control, electronic brake distribution, air suspension, Intelligent Transport System (ITS), and a panic button.
