Tata Motors Unveils Ultra EV 7M Electric Bus at Prawaas 4.0

Tata Motors, India's leading commercial vehicle manufacturer, has unveiled a range of innovative mass mobility solutions at Prawaas 4.0, a three-day event focused on safe, smart, and sustainable transportation. The event, held at the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre (BIEC) in Bengaluru, highlights Tata Motors' commitment to modern urban mobility.

Introduction of Tata Ultra EV 7M

At the event, Tata Motors introduced the all-new Tata Ultra EV 7M, an intra-city electric bus designed for urban transportation. The 21-seater Ultra EV 7M is driven by a 213kW electric motor and an IP67-rated 200kWh Li-ion battery. 

According to the company, the Ultra EV 7M is built to navigate restricted lanes and high-traffic metropolitan cities. It has a claimed range of up to 160km on a single charge and fast charging capability, allowing for a full charge in two and a half hours. 

The entirely electric drivetrain is supported by innovative safety measures like as electronic braking and stability control. The bus has an Automatic Passenger Counter and a high level of safety and security thanks to its Intelligent Transport System (ITS). 

Furthermore, the Ultra EV 7M includes regenerative braking technology, which improves its efficiency and range.

Expanding Portfolio of Electric Vehicles

Tata Motors' CV portfolio includes clean and sustainable solutions for various powertrains and emission technologies. The firm dominates the market in the electric bus segment, with over 2,900 e-buses deployed across India and a total mileage of over 16 crore kilometers. It is also developing hydrogen fuel cell transportation options in the country.

Tata Motors' expansion strategy includes a wide range of alternative fuel-powered vehicles that offer lower operational costs and increased profitability to operators. Fleet Edge, a connected vehicle platform that uses smart technologies to improve fleet management, vehicle uptime, and safety, adds to the company's CV portfolio.

Tata Motors also showed various passenger transport options at Prawaas 4.0, such as the Magna EV, Magic Bi-fuel, Ultra Prime CNG, Winger 9S, CityRide Prime, and LPO 1822, all of which promise to provide tailored solutions in a variety of applications and duty cycles.
