Mahindra and Mahindra

Last year in 2021-22, Mahindra Electric Mobility Ltd, a subsidiary of Mahindra and Mahindra, sold 16,862 units of electric three-wheelers. The company had a 73.4% market share that year, with incredible sales growth. If we talk about commercial electric vehicle sales for September 2022, we will find that the company sold 5,774 units of ICE+electric variants. It indicates that the company achieved a 94% YoY increase; last year, its sales figure for the same month was 2,856 units.

Tata Motors

Tata Motors saw 42% growth in Q2FY23 than Q2FY22. It generated sales of 2,43,387 vehicles compared to last year's 1,71,270 units for the same period. However, if we talk about the EV segment, it sold out 3,655 units under the PV EV category and witnessed 239% growth. Moreover, it also noticed an increased sales figure in the PV ICE category achieving 43,999 sales. Under the LCV category, it sold out 5,144 units during September 2022, which was 8% lower than last year's sale for the same month. In addition, Tata Tiago EV also got a positive response from buyers. It's expected that the EV segment will get more attention from Indian buyers during the festive season.

So, these two commercial EV manufacturers recorded sales in the electric vehicle category. However, other commercial EV manufacturers have not shared their September sales yet.
