DICV enters the pre-owned CV market and introduces 'BharatBenz Certified'

The company will refurbish pre-owned BharatBenz automobiles with a rigorous 125-point quality inspection, which will result in a full technical check, repair, and restoration of the vehicles. Before dispatch, the trucks will undergo a thorough pre-delivery inspection (PDI).

Daimler India Commercial Vehicles (DICV), the wholly owned subsidiary of Daimler Truck AG and producer of BharatBenz, has announced its debut into the pre-owned CV market under ‘BharatBenz Certified’. This new business venture will restore and sell used BharatBenz trucks to Indian clients.

This effort would restore and sell previously owned BharatBenz trucks in India. According to DICV, BharatBenz automobiles are exceptionally durable due to the high level of product design and quality, giving higher mileage and a longer lifecycle than what Indian purchasers are used to. This makes the offer of pre-owned BharatBenz vehicles appealing to potential customers.

The CV manufacturer also runs a program called 'BharatBenz Exchange,' which was developed with the goal of allowing consumers who owned CVs built by other brands to switch to BharatBenz. While BharatBenz Exchange has expanded the sale of BharatBenz CVs in India since its inception in 2020, the newly announced BharatBenz Certified complements BharatBenz Exchange by taking advantage of the longer lifecycle of BharatBenz CVs that consumers can enjoy.

BharatBenz Certified will be accessible in the pilot phase at Trident Trucking in Bengaluru and will be immediately expanded to all BharatBenz dealerships across the country.

All second-hand BharatBenz vehicles that have been repaired and restored to near-showroom condition by 'BharatBenz Certified' will come with a 6-month warranty. Customers will have the option of acquiring a new Annual Maintenance Contract (AMC) or transferring the prior owner's warranty and AMC for their pre-owned BharatBenz vehicles.

While commercial vehicles normally have a lifecycle of 5-6 years, BharatBenz claims its trucks can go for millions of kilometres without stopping, just needing service at manufacturer-specified intervals.

This extends the lifespan of BharatBenz CVs well beyond 5-6 years, making them a compelling pre-owned proposition for customers looking to purchase pre-owned BharatBenz vehicles that, after being refurbished by BharatBenz Certified, are as good as new in terms of reliability, performance, safety, and total cost of ownership.
