Key Highlights:

  • Reduced 30+ tonnes of CO2 with CNG and electric vehicles.
  • Aiming for net-zero carbon emissions by 2040.
  • Shifted 70% of sourcing to sea and land routes.
  • 684 tonnes of CO2 cut in a year with green initiatives.
  • An additional 654 tonnes of CO2 reduction is expected by March 2025.

IPM India Logistics is making significant progress in reducing carbon emissions by using CNG and electric vehicles in its fleet. The company has already cut over 30 tonnes of CO2 emissions since introducing these eco-friendly commercial vehicles in Delhi-NCR and Mumbai.

IPM India’s Commitment to Sustainability

IPM India Wholesale Trading, a subsidiary of Philip Morris International (PMI), is enhancing its sustainable logistics network across India. Over the past year, the company’s efforts have successfully reduced 684 tonnes of CO2 emissions. This is part of a broader strategy to transition to greener, more sustainable logistics practices by FY2025.

PMI, a leading global tobacco company, is focusing on sustainability across its operations. The company plans to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2040, integrating cleaner technologies and optimizing its supply chains. PMI’s efforts align with India’s National Action Plan on Climate Change (NAPCC), which encourages the use of renewable energy and sustainability initiatives.

Eco-Friendly Vehicles in Logistics Fleet

IPM India has added CNG trucks and electric commercial vehicles to its logistics fleet to reduce carbon emissions. These vehicles alone have helped cut over 30 tonnes of CO2 emissions in key areas like Delhi-NCR and Mumbai. This initiative is a major step toward cleaner, more sustainable logistics.

In addition to greener vehicles, IPM India has shifted 70% of its non-tobacco product sourcing from air freight to more eco-friendly sea and land transport. This shift will help reduce an additional 654 tonnes of CO2 emissions by March 2025.

Company Leaders Speak Out

Navaneel Kar, Managing Director of IPM India, commented, “Sustainability and business performance go hand in hand. Our sustainable logistics network is a reflection of our core values. We are proud to drive positive change and create long-term value through innovation and sustainability.”

Divya Vanshika, Head of Operations at IPM India, added, “Investing in a sustainable logistics network is crucial for our business and society. We are committed to supporting India's journey toward a carbon-neutral future, in line with the government’s focus on sustainability.”
