Assam State Transport Corporation (ASTC) has received 100 electric buses from Tata Motors, India's largest commercial vehicle manufacturer. The buses were launched on January 1, 2024, by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.
According to the news release, the zero-emission buses are developed in-house on next-generation architecture, are outfitted with the newest technologies, and are powered by modern battery systems. These buses are eco-friendly, built with cutting-edge technology and carefully tested under varying situations, and will make public transit safer, more comfortable, more advanced, and more efficient.
