The front suspension is semi-elliptic multi-leaf with parabolic springs as an option. A semi-elliptic multi-leaf with parabolic assistance springs is located at the rear.

As an option, the front axle is forged I section in reverse Elliot type with unitized wheel bearings. Brakes on the Ashok Leyland 4020 are full air dual line brakes with ABS and an auto exhaust brake for safety and greater control while the tractor is towing a full load of the trailer.
