Ashok Leyland Launches SAATHI at Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025

Ashok Leyland, a leading name in the commercial vehicle industry and part of the Hinduja Group, has unveiled its latest innovation, the SAATHI, at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. This premium entry-level Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) aims to redefine standards in the competitive LCV market.

The launch was graced by Shri HD Kumaraswamy, Honourable Union Minister of Heavy Industries and Steel, alongside Mr. Shenu Agarwal, MD & CEO of Ashok Leyland. With SAATHI, Ashok Leyland reaffirms its position as a trailblazer in the commercial vehicle industry.

What Makes SAATHI Stand Out?

The SAATHI boasts a powerful 45 HP engine, 110 Nm torque, and a 24% larger loading area compared to competitors. With a best-in-class payload capacity of 1,120 kg, superior mileage, and larger tyres, it is designed for optimal performance and efficiency.

One of its standout features is the Low Nitrogen Technology (LNT), which eliminates the need for AdBlue, simplifying operations and lowering costs for owners. Priced at an affordable ₹6,49,999 (FSD variant), the vehicle also comes with a 5-year/2-lakh-km warranty.

Speaking at the launch, Mr. Dheeraj Hinduja, Executive Chairman of Ashok Leyland, said, “SAATHI reflects our commitment to innovation and sustainability. It’s a game-changer for small businesses, ensuring better earnings and unmatched performance.”

A Glimpse at Other Innovations

At the Expo, Ashok Leyland also showcased two groundbreaking vehicles:

1. GARUD 15
   • India’s first front-engine, multi-axle 15-meter premium bus.
   • Offers 42 sleeper berths and a GVW of 22,500 kg, maximizing revenue for operators.
   • Advanced safety features include ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) and DMS (Driver Monitoring System).
2. eTIRAN Electric Port-Terminal Tractor
   • India’s first electric terminal tractor with a customizable battery range of 180-350 km.
   • Equipped with safety features like a hill-start assist and an air-conditioned cabin with a 360-degree view, it is designed for rigorous port operations.

Mr. Shenu Agarwal shared his thoughts on these innovations, stating, “Ashok Leyland continues to lead the way with products that combine cutting-edge technology, sustainability, and profitability for operators.”
