Retail Tractor Sales Report for February 2023 Shows an Upsurge of 13.9%

The Federation of Automobile Dealers Association (FADA) has released the tractor sales report of national and international tractor brands selling tractors in the Indian market. According to this recent report, retail tractor sales for February 2023 increased by 13.67%, whereas domestic tractor sales spiked by 20.9%.

Mahindra & Mahindra again stood at the top position in selling the highest number of tractors in the domestic market and export. The company sold out 15,884 units of tractors, which was 11,362 units last year in the same month. Moreover, if we talk about growth, M&M witnessed a growth of nearly 40%, which is higher than competitors.

Swaraj Division is part of Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd; this tractor manufacturing company generated sales of 12473 units compared to 8424 units in Feb 2022 to secure growth of 48.06%.

On the other hand, Sonalika tractors registered retail tractor sales of 8617 units which were 8424 units last year. Sonalika tractors also saw nearly 19% growth because of higher sales figures in the domestic market.

Escorts Ltd (Agri Machinery Group) sold 7343 tractors against 5042 units in February 2022 to record a growth of 45.60%.

The retail sales of TAFE tractors stood at 6603 units, and its last year's sale for the same month was 6216 units. Moreover, the growth of this tractor brand reached 6.23%, reflecting a slight but significant rise in its sales figure.

John Deere's retail tractor sales grew by 35.93%, recording 5977 units. Last year the brand had a sales figure of 4397 units in the same month.

Eicher tractor brand sold 3924 units of tractors, which is higher than the sales figure of February 2023 as it was 3698 units.

CNN Industrial India, also called New Holland, registered retail tractor sales in February 2023 of 2655 units, which was 2124 units in February 2022, reflecting an incredible growth of 25%.

Kubota International Private Ltd tractor brand sold out 1965 units in February 2023, and last year the brand had sales of 1503 units, helping it record a growth of 30.74%.

VST Tiller Tractors' retail sales figure for February 2023 reached 462 against 419 unit sales in Feb 2022.

Force registered retail tractor sales of 345 units against 385 units in Feb 2022, showing a drop of 10.40%.

Preet Tractors also faced a decline in their retail tractor sales by 18.59%. It recorded 276 unit sales in February 2023 and 339 in February 2022.

Trakstar (GroMax Agri Equipments) retail tractor sales reached 254 units against 197 units in Feb 2022 to record a growth of 28.90%.

Despite all these tractor brands, other tractor manufacturers managed to sell 1909 tractors against 9064 units in February 2022, resulting in a 78.90% drop in sales figures.

In February 2023, retail tractor sales stood at 68,687 units against 60,429 units in 2022, showing an increase of 13.67%. Additionally, tractor brands like Mahindra & Mahindra, Swaraj Division, Sonalika, Escorts Ltd, TAFE, and John Deere witnessed increased sales. In contrast, Force Motors Ltd and Preet Tractors saw a slight drop in February sales.
